19 years old krishna Kumari , who works on farms and lives in Makreri Village in Bhilawara District.
Krishna said
“I am allowed to attend weddings but I’m not allowed to throw akshat (rice grains) at the bride n groom to bless them since I’m considered impure. I’m not allowed to even touch Prasad during the poojas or festival days. They cook separate food for me during festivals. I’m not allowed to touch Tulsi plants or any other plants that are considered holy. I’m not even allowed to water any plants! So during periods I cant go to work in farms nor feed cattles and am asked to sit in a corner of room during periods.
My mother-in-law doesn’t let me step out of the house when I’m menstruating.
I have studied till class XIIth so I know I m not impure but have to follow traditions,So I wish to join in hands with Praveenlata Sansthan to create awareness in my village.
